Jeffrey Beyer, Managing Director of Zest Associates joined two experts on North African energy on Thursday to discuss the potentiality of Morocco as a hub for renewable energy.
The event took place at Connecting Green Hydrogen MENA 2022 and featured Alan Zhao, Director at Cummins Inc, and Khalid Salmi, and energy expert from Regional Center for Renewable Energy an Energy Efficiency (RCREEE).
"Morocco could be a great success case for enabling domestic and export green hydrogen with optimized hydrogen generation ecosystem from innovators like Cummins," said Zhao. "It was my pleasure to be on the panel with Jeffery Beyer from Zest Associates and Khalid Salmi from RCREEE."
The discussion also highlighted the leadership of Morocco in advancing the deployment of renewable energy to meet growing demand, as well as Power-to-X. The recent partnership between Morocco and Germany seeks to bolster cooperation in the development of green hydrogen projects.
"Morocco has big advantages when it comes to green hydrogen," said Jeffrey Beyer. "High levels of access to solar and wind energy, export proximity to Europe, opportunity to tap ammonia as an import substitution, and its strong infrastructure all bode well for a cleaner future."
